AAR 2020

I will be presenting a paper at the American Academy of Religion conference this year, which has gone virtual in response to the public health crisis. The session, co-hosted by the Mysticism, Platonism and Neo-Platonism, and Pragmatism and Empiricism in American Religious Thought units, will consider Willemien Otten’s recent book Thinking Nature and the Nature of Thinking. This talk, presented to a graduate philosophy course on Bonaventure’s theology of history, will delve in depth into the structure and content of one of Bonaventure’s shortest and richest works, The Reduction of the Arts to Theology. Taking the work as containing in nuce all of Bonaventure’s theological system, the nature of the system will be unfolded and illuminated.
